Message from Superintendent Bob Moore

As we move into fall and winter, colds and flu season will exacerbate the difficulty of monitoring and assessing illnesses. As a reminder, the CDC has published new symptom guidelines, which were shared by our nursing staff yesterday. The guidelines indicate that staff and students should stay home when they have two or more minor symptoms or one major symptom of COVID-19. This information is being sent home and available on the school website. There has been some confusion in this area. If you need guidance, please contact the nursing staff.

The Stevensville School District will continue to take precautions with cleaning, disinfecting, monitoring students and controlling student gatherings as appropriate. This includes student travel. An example is the administrative decision to cancel our football games with Butte Central as they have active cases and quarantines in their school.

The Board has directed that Stevensville Schools will follow Governor Bullock’s and Ravalli County Health Department directives for COVID-19. We will continue to require masks for all persons in the school unless specifically excepted from the requirement by the directive. Masks are required until such a time that there are three or fewer active cases of COVID-19 in the county. If we reach a level of active cases below four, the District will follow the Governor’s plan and move to a status of “masks highly recommended.” I receive a daily email from Ravalli County Health and will inform the school community of any change in this area. Thank you in advance for continuing to wear masks and assist with compliance.
