Your activity will be the “hands-on” experience portion of your Senior Project. During the activity phase, you will be asked to find an outside mentor to help extend your learning beyond the walls of Stevensville High School. This is your time to really explore your topic and see if it is something you would like to pursue at a more in-depth level in the future.

Get Organized:

  • If organizational skills are a problem for you, get help from your Senior Advisor.
  • Monitor your progress weekly.
  • Keep your Senior Advisor and Community Mentor informed of your progress.
  • Don’t fall behind. (This is the single most common piece of advice from former students.)

Keep records of what you do. You will need to include them in your portfolio

  • Keep a journal. Make activity entries.
  • Log your hours as they are completed on the time sheet.
  • Take pictures or videos of your progress.
  • Keep receipts, name badges, pamphlets, newspaper articles, or other items documenting your activity.

Working on the activity during school time:

  • Pre-arranged release time will be authorized only after your Senior Advisor, Community Mentor, and an Advisor Committee member have verified the necessity of working during the school day. The Pre-arranged Attendance form must be signed by all classroom teachers prior to the absence.
