“Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life.” Sidney Sheldon

My name is Heidi Cowan. I was born and raised in Missoula. I attended the University of Montana and I have always had a passion for sharing my love of learning and reading with others, so a teacher was an obvious choice. I graduated in 2017 with three certificates all focusing on education and literacy. Besides my teaching and my library certification, I am a qualified ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher.

I love to travel and have been fortunate to have lived in Germany and in China and been to 9 countries. Reading is another favorite pastime of mine, especially if it’s a good mystery. I like to go camping but don’t get to do it enough in the summer it feels like. Finally, the one thing that I am found doing the most is hanging out at home with my cat, Huckleberry Finn, who I adopted when I lived in Harbin, China.
