12th grade Students in the AP Government and Politics Course presented a We the People Mock Congressional Hearing for parents and members of the Stevensville Community on January 4th. Students in Mr. Wells course have been studying the U.S. Constitution and a variety of founding documents in preparation for the State Finals Competition in Helena, MT on January 23rd where they will compete against seven other high schools. They best performing school will represent Montana in Washington D.C. in late April. This is the first time this curriculum and competition have been offered to students at Stevensville and Mr. Wells hopes to continue “developing a quality competitive We the People team.” Guest judges included State Senator Fred Thomas, State Representative Ed Greef and local teacher Brandon Johnson from Lolo Public Schools. The event was well attended and the students did a great job in demonstrating the program.
