Stevensville School District

PERSONNEL

Resignations

Certified and classified personnel will generally be expected to fulfill the terms of their contract unless (1) there are clearly compelling, mitigating circumstances which prevent the certified or exempt individual from doing so; and (2) until such time as the Board releases the certified individual form the terms of the contract upon recommendation of the Superintendent.

Classified employees not under contract are expected to give due written notice that will permit the District to conduct a search for a suitable replacement.  Generally speaking, the Board expects a two-(2)-week notice.

The Board authorizes the Superintendent to accept on its behalf resignations from any school district employee.  The Superintendent shall provide written acceptance of the resignation, including the date of acceptance, to the employee setting forth the effective date of the resignation.

All resignations shall be in writing.  Once the Superintendent has accepted the resignation it may not be withdrawn by the employee.  Official action will be taken by the Board at the next regular or special meeting.
