October 9, 2020

Dear Parents and Stevensville School Community,

I am pleased to announce that the Stevensville Public Schools will resume in-person instruction on Monday, October 12, 2020. There has been much speculation and misinformation regarding the length of our closure. It was always the intent to re-open for instruction as soon as possible.

Our nursing staff is continuing to contact and provide quarantine information to families and individuals on behalf of Ravalli County Health. These contacts are individuals who are considered close contacts of COVID-19 positive individuals. The work of calling close contacts will continue through the weekend. However, we are confident this work will be completed prior to the start of regular school sessions on Monday.

Please note that all buildings have been cleaned and disinfected by our custodial and maintenance staff during the closure, and we will continue to provide day-time custodial staffing to clean and disinfect.

I fully understand the difficulties school closures pose to the entire community. As such, it is always the intent of the Stevensville Public Schools to remain open for scheduled instruction. Closures for any reason present families with difficult challenges that we want to help families and the community avoid. Using the best available information, we will absolutely work to minimize any and all school closures.

The entire staff at the Stevensville Public Schools would like to thank you for your understanding and support in these unprecedented circumstances and will look forward to seeing the return to in-person instruction, activities, and facilities use on October 12, 2020. We ask that students who have checked out Chromebooks, hot spots and textbooks to please bring them to school on Monday unless they are under quarantine as established by the Ravalli County Department of Health.

Sincerely,

Robert Moore Ed. D.

Superintendent
