Senior Projects are a vital component of the JACKET Program here at SHS. The Senior Project allows the students the ability to give back to the communities which have helped raise and/or shape their lives. It is also a great opportunity for students to explore potential career possibilities while focusing on what it takes to be successful in that particular field of interest.

Starting next school year, all students that graduate from Stevensville High School will be required to complete a Senior Project, a Senior Paper, and pass the Senior Presentation. The Senior Presentation is a great opportunity for the students to showcase the skills and knowledge they obtained throughout the project. This is also a great interactive component for our Stevensville Community since different community mentors and business owners come in as judges for this event. If you have any questions regarding senior projects or presentations, please contact our building principal, Mr. Gum at 777-5481, ext. 132

Important Guidelines for Senior Projects
  • Parent/Guardian signature is required on specific forms for the project even if the student is 18 years of age.
  • Project topics and content must adhere to the school district policy regarding appropriateness of violence, profanity, drugs and alcohol.
  • Permission for project changes will require a petition to be submitted to the Advisory Committee no later than the end of semester 1 for full year graduates.
  • Academic insubordination and/or falsification of any project components will mandate a hearing with the Advisory Committee where consequences will be determined.
  • School release time to work on the project will be authorized by an Advisory Committee member and the student’s Senior Advisor after the Community Mentor has verified the need of working during the school day. (The Pre-Arranged Absence form must be filled out, signed by the student’s Senior Advisor and an Advisory Committee member then submitted to the attendance office two days prior to the scheduled absence.)
  • Presentation dress rehearsals must be completed and the Activity Time Log must be signed by the student’s Community Mentor verifying completed project hours prior to the scheduled presentation day.
  • Technology being used for the presentation must be tested in the assigned room before presentation day. Presentations need to be saved to a flash drive.
