Kindles for Kids
The Montana Masonic Foundation through our local Masonic Lodge sponsors this wonderful reading incentive program. During the months of February (I Love to Read Month) and March, Stevensville Students (1st Grade – 5th Grade) have the opportunity to earn a Kindle by reading! The student who accumulates the most Accelerated Reader Points during this time period will be awarded a Kindle during our annual end of the year reading celebration.
Star Wall
A student’s star will appear on our “Star Wall” once he/she earns 50 Accelerated Reader Points. Each quarter his/her star will reflect how many more points have been earned. At the end of the year, the students who have earned stars will be rewarded with special prizes according to how many points they have earned. The students who have earned the most points will also be honored at our Awards Ceremony in June.
Reading is the Ticket
This reading incentive program is offered to Kindergarten-Eighth Grade Students. Each student will be given a student tally sheet to record 10 hours of recreational reading to earn a free ticket to Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Waterpark. This Spring program has encouraged many students to spend more time reading!
Book Club
4th and 5th Grade students have the opportunity to sign-up for our Thursday Book Club. Mr. Starck and I facilitate this group that reads the same book and meets during lunch and recess one day per week to discuss it. Everyone who signs up will have a chance to be in at least one group each year!
