Grades 1 – 2: Beginning Programming

Wednesdays: March 14 – May 2 (8 weeks) Hours: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM (snack included)

Grades 3– 4: Visual Programming

Wednesdays: March 14 – May 2 (8 weeks) Hours: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM (snack included)

Grades 5+: Digital Art

Thursdays: March 15 – May 3 (8 weeks) Hours: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (snack included)

Grades 5+: Robotics

Tuesdays: March 13 – May 1 (8 weeks) Hours: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (snack included)

Tuition: $80 per class (tuition assistance may be available) Make checks out to ‘Stevensville Public Schools’ and deliver to Eric Walthall or Sherry Haacke at the district office in the high school

Spring 2018 Class Descriptions

Beginning Programming (grades 1-2): This class presents the fundamentals of computers and programming. Students learn relevant vocabulary, computer skills, and the basics of programming through computer and interactive games.

Visual Programming (grades 3-4): Students in this class learn vocabulary, logic, and hands-on skills required for visual programming. Utilizing on-line and interactive games, students complete the class by designing and programming their own game.

Digital Art (grades 5+): This class allows students to explore digital tools that will make creating both easy and fun. It combines instruction on the concepts of artistic design with the computer skills required to be creative in a digital environment.

Robotics (grades 5+): Students in this class learn vocabulary, logic and computer programming while interacting with physical robots. Student teams design and program Lego robots, building skills while having fun.
