Go to the Playground in the Mornings

Primary students who arrive between 8:00-8:30 am will be supervised on the playground south of the Primary building. Primary students are asked to walk to the playground from their drop off zone. Students will remain outside unless it is raining or the temperatures are below 10 degrees fahrenheit.

Dressing for COLD temperatures

Winter temperatures are here! Please be sure to dress your child in a winter jacket, hat, gloves/mittens, snow boots (when snow is on the ground), and snow pants. *Please mark all outdoor garments with child’s name* These items are essential for fun outdoor play. If you do not have these items we may be able to help! Please contact Jessica Shourd, Primary Principal, by emailing [email protected].

Drop Off/Pick Up

When dropping your children off in the loop, please remain in your car. Move forward once your child has left your vehicle. For everyone’s safety, please follow these steps to keep traffic from backing up on Park Ave. Please do not drop your kids off from the left lane!

Also, the area on Phillips St. just in front of the playground, before the entry gate and near the ball shed, is not a drop off/pick up zone. There are many children, staff, and parents walking in this area in the mornings and is an unsafe drop off/pick up zone. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!

Breakfast After the Bell

Breakfast After Bell is going strong in the Primary School. Roughly 1/3 of our current students participating in breakfasts were eating last year. This means we’ve increased breakfast participation by almost 70% by offering breakfast after the bell rings. As we become more adept with this program our Food Service Director, Jenna Henning, has plans to increase homemade items served for breakfast.

Look in the Lost and Found!!

We have many nice-looking coats, hats, gloves, mittens, sweatshirts, and fleece coats in the Primary lost and found. We will make a donation to the Free Store for those items that remain unclaimed. In the meantime, please put your child’s name on his/her outdoor clothing for fast return.

Connecting Classrooms

Students in grades K-6 pair with students in grades 7-12 on the last Friday of each month for lessons created through our Mental Health Team. The primary goal for pairing our upperclassmen with younger students is to promote friendly connections and mentoring within our school. This idea was created through our Olweus Bully Prevention committee. Stevensville School employees witness many cherishable moments during these connections.
