Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Stevensville Primary has three different dates for parents and children to get ready for kindergarten. Each of them are important to attend if you have an incoming kindergartener. Please read the following to better understand the process we have created.

Kindergarten REGISTRATION (parents only attend): March 5-9 from 8:00-4:00. You do not need an appointment, come fill out registration paperwork anytime Monday through Friday. This process helps Stevensville prepare for the 18-19 school year. Children must be 5 years of age on or before September 10, 2018. Bring birth certificate and immunizations (must be current before first day of school on August 27th.)

Kindergarten ROUND UP/ORIENTATION (parents and incoming kindergarteners attend): Held on June 4, 2018 from 9:00-11:30. Parent Break-Out Sessions: Informational items, brief school overview of what to expect for you and your child, Parent Teacher Club presentations, tours, understand what our school offers, learn about the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, and register your child if you haven’t already done so (bring necessary documents). Student Break-Out Sessions: Incoming students will be involved in a series of activities and games including brief assessments for best placement. Meet teachers, eat snacks, tour a bus, play at recess, visiting kindergarten classrooms, and much more!

Kindergarten READINESS CAMP (incoming kindergarteners only attend): August 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, and 17 from 8:30-12:00 for all incoming kindergarteners who are registered to attend Stevensville School. This camp helps children acclimate to the school setting. Students practice letter recognition/sounds as well as number recognition/counting. Students learn other important aspects of our school including the 4 Bees behavior expectations, where the office and bathroom are, and safety playground rules. Students have a GREAT time at camp! Lunch is served before students are picked up. Parents and Stevensville staff have all witnessed the positive effects this program offers. Please consider sending your incoming kindergartener to Camp.
