Cathi Cook made a motion to expel student A for the remainder of the school year with the option to come back to the Board in August requesting readmission for the 2019-2020 if all legal matters have been resolved.  Sean Lenahan seconded the motion.  All voted aye.

B. School Closure by Declaration of Emergency

Superintendent Bob Moore told the Board they may declare an unforeseen emergency due to snow and travel conditions. This declaration allows the Board to adopt a resolution at a later date declaring, “the pupil-instruction time lost during the closure need not to be rescheduled to meet the minimum requirement for aggregate hours that a school district must conduct during the school year in order to be entitled to full annual equalization apportionment”.  The school must make up three days or the necessary aggregate hours to attempt to reach the state requirement in order to declare that a “reasonable effort” has been made to make up missing aggregate hours.

C. School Calendar Adjustment

Superintendent Bob Moore told the Board at this time there will be no adjustments to the school calendar.  Bob told the Board the district will not have to make up the snow days from last week.  Bob also told the Board if the district has another snow day or two more late starts, the district will need to make up those hours.  Bob told the Board there are several ways to do this and Bob talked about each one.
